Day 9: The Terminal Brewhouse – Chattanooga

by Jeff

You came for the beer…but stayed for the burger!

The best quote ’bout The Terminal is the one I read by David P from Charlotte, NC… “If Big River Brewhouse is Disney, The Terminal is The Brothers Grimm, (the originals; not the movie).”

Patrice and I are becoming regulars at The Terminal Brewhouse and today I stopped in for bit of lunch. Love the beer, the food, the atmosphere, everything! It is a great place to meet friends, enjoy a great meal or sit and read the paper.

Some of the best pizza in Chatt

Who would've thought...some of the best pizza in Chatt -

Today I ordered a pizza with the house salad and a West Coast IPA.

I have told Patrice many times that the salad may be the best “house salad” in Chattanooga…always perfect with the goat cheese, thin pear slices, pecans, fresh greens and house dressing.

The pizza is top-notch. The crust and sauce really makes it and is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The Terminal Brewhouse is unique, delicious and a great casual place to go with friends.

Usually sitting at a booth, today I was at the bar and happened to meet a businessman from Ohio. As lunch went on, I learned that his best friend from back home graduated from Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA the year after I did.

Located next to the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo, The Terminal Brewhouse was conceived by the owners of the venerable Hair of the Dog pub in Chattanooga. The Terminal is a three story open atrium restaurant with a brewery in the basement and a “Beer Garden” on the roof of the kitchen.

The beer garden which is the grass covered “sustainable roof” of the kitchen serves as one of the best outdoor spaces in downtown. The grass is growing again this spring.

The food at The Terminal is very fresh, flavorful and made with a selection of local produce and suppliers. The staff works hard and will develop the consistency needed to make each customers experience pleasurable. We have been served by several wait staff that are clearly top notch and understand the brewery.

West Cost IPA

Trip was back before I could get this written! -

My 86 year old mom who sticks to the Belgium White says the burger is the best she has ever had!

The beers are excellent and the chalkboard above the bar notes what is available, the food is priced well and tasty, the atmosphere is very casual. P
