I was introduced to The Big Table as a member of the Signal Mountain Lions Club, they cater dinner for the Lions at each of the regular meetings. This quickly became a favorite for lunches with co-workers and dinner for Patrice and I.
This small, off the beaten path, and absolutely delicious, family-owned establishment is an extraordinary cafe-style restaurant with a great menu that incorporates fresh, home-made, local food.
The menu is constant yet changing. Always a different casserole and choice of two homemade soups with several specials for the day.
The dining area only seats 30 people, but works very well with a group or family get-together. They have recently added additional space next door at The Big Table next door which houses the coffee shop aptly named
“The Coffee Table” with additional seating for large events and brunch.
As Patrice and I enjoyed lunch here again today I commented that The Big Table reminded me of many of our favorite haunts at the beach, it all works for a great eating experience. My Reuben sandwich was “fat” and Patrice commented that her Turkey on 12 grain was very good. The salads were wonderful and I topped lunch with a piece of coconut cream pie that was more like a custard with a delightful crust.
Everything is cooked fresh and its delicious. The portions are just right and the Big Table Salad with a raspberry vinaigrette is amazing (it’s piled with strawberries, pears, walnuts, and feta). The desserts are all made from scratch on site with several signature choices so when they’re out of something they’re out of it for the night.
Whenever we have out of town clients we mention The Big Table for lunch or dinner. The Big Table also provides catering for your event or gathering at a reasonable cost, from weddings to dessert parties they provide incredible food and friendly service at an affordable price.
