"Put Some South In Your Mouth" at The Southern Star

Always count on great food and service at either Southern Star location, downtown at 1300 Broad or on Signal Mountain at 1210 Taft Highway in the Signal Crossing plaza.

1300 Broad Street

Southern Star downtown offers plenty of dining inside with a patio area outside and is a hub of activity at lunch. We decided to stop in for a late lunch today and I opted for the 3 sides blue plate while Patrice had a Star Salad.

Chicken Pot Pie was on the board today so I ordered it with stewed tomatoes, black eyed peas and edamame salad. The Star Salad is a signature of the Southern Star with the crumbled blue cheese and candied pecans. The balsamic dressing is just right.

As we were finishing owner Rick Adams stopped by the table to say hi, showing he and Nancy’s hands on approach to the business.

The Signal Mountain location at the present has limited seating but offers very efficient carry out and meals to go. Fresh ingredients, daily specials and friendly service are the perfect combination at either location.

The Southern Star

Every sauce, soup, dressing, and side is made fresh daily in the Southern Star’s kitchen using only the best quality ingredients.
