How can a grocery be an event and attraction?
Today I am stopping for some fresh salmon and groats and just happened to have my camera. Chattanooga is privileged to have such a resource for healthy choices!
The traditional thought regarding safe, sterile shopping at a grocery doesn’t apply here. Each aisle, in fact, every nook and cranny in Greenlife attracts your senses and culinary creativity. What can I try today?
The original Greenlife Grocery 1999 by Chuck Pruett in a 10,000 square foot store on Hixson Pike and by 2005 had outgrown the space.
After a quick stop by the hot food bar and fresh soups (usually 4 or 5), I wander past the sushi bar and bakery to the fish counter. The selection today is very good with everything sustainable and/or wild caught. The staff is very knowledgeable and help me decide between Coho and King.
From the fish and meat counter I head to the bulk food aisle to bag up groats which we include with our daily oatmeal.
Greenlife does it right and seems to have a goal of being the best at whatever they do. Clearly the best cheese selection in Chattanooga. I pick up a couple quarts of yogurt while in the dairy isle and marvel at the choices.
A trip to Greenlife will fill your grocery basket with healthy, good for you foods and products. Shop smart, eat slow, you will be more satisfied and consume less. Don’t be fooled by “low fat, no fat”, this simply means the manufacturer has added sugar to enhance flavor. Eat as close to the source as possible. Greenlife uses local produce and meat suppliers when possible.
The store in Riverview was busting at the seams so in November of 2007, Greenlife
Grocery moved to their new location in the Two North Shore complex off of Manufacturer’s Road and served as an anchor and catalyst to a wonderful collection of unique shops, service providers and boutiques.
When I worked for the newspaper, I would stop daily for lunch. Never bored with the selection or the company. You will usually see someone you know. Free wifi is available as well.
Whether you shop at Greenlife or another grocery, your food store is where “health care begins”. Greenlife Grocery will change the way you shop…for the better!
