Great food, ambiance and service = wonderful dining experience!
What can I say other than,
“we have never been disappointed”. Located at 3535 Broad Street, Chattanooga, the Mt. Vernon Restaurant is convenient on the south side, very close to St. Elmo and has been in business serving Chattanooga residents for 50 years.
They offer a tasty menu that includes old time favorites such as southern fried chicken, slow roasted turkey and dressing, fresh fried corn or the delicious fried green tomatoes and a great lineup of “healthy” dishes.
A “menu of the day” enhances the selection available and I always check the board for the dessert which is made on premises! The seafood dishes are some of the best for the price in Chattanooga providing a selection of Grouper, Salmon, Haddock and shellfish. The menu always has a wine suggestion depending on the meal.
Today I am enjoying Pecan Crusted Grouper with a light sauce, spinach and Jasmine Rice. Patrice ordered the trout with the spinach and squash.
Shari is our waitress today and is right on time with everything. We learned that she recently moved here from the Detroit, MI area and has quickly fallen in love with Chattanooga and the people here.
Wow, the portions are just right and served hot. The bread from Niedlovs is a perfect compliment to the meal.
Friday is my favorite day at the Mt. Vernon but the reason will remain a secret!
If this is one of those restaurants that you have driven by forever without stopping, I recommend you make plans to give it a try.
Casual yet formal in the decor, the Mt. Vernon Restaurant is just a comfortable place to enjoy company with friends or family. Please tell them, we sent you!
