Upscale yet very comfortable, the secret at Canyon Grill is, “they do everything right”!
Fresh ingredients, simple menu and impressive service from start to finish by a staff that contributes to the success of this dining experience.
The menu does vary slightly with the seasons and may change from night to night due to an occasional sellout because the meats and fish are always fresh. We prefer a simple menu and the Canyon Grill offers a wonderful compliment of appetizers, salads, entrees and sides.
The service is outstanding and does not take long for you to notice that each employee understands the common goal of presenting the best dining experience possible. There is not enough wall space for all the reviews and awards Canyon Grill has garnered.
We called ahead for priority seating 706-398-9510 (highly recommended) and we arrived right on time. Greeted at the front door, we were asked if we needed wine glasses. Their BYOB program allows you to bring your own favorite wine or beer selection to enjoy while dining at Canyon Grill! (It is illegal to sell or serve hard liquor in Dade County.) They do not charge a corkage fee and again will provide glassware and ice bucket if needed.
Our table of four settled on several appetizers to enjoy prior to dinner, including the Rajas and feta and garlic dip. The bread is delivered hot with slabs of fresh butter.
Becky, our server was engaging and enjoyed providing recommendations. Patrice and I have dined at the Canyon Grill many times but this was a first for Priscilla and Jake.
Our table settled on Filet Mignon (2 orders), whole trout grilled and a poultry dish. The sides included grilled red cabbage (I listed it first for good reason), fried okra, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet and sour cabbage and black beans. The filets were cooked to perfection and served with a cognac peppercorn sauce, the local trout was wonderfully prepared and the chicken delicate and “melt in your mouth” delicious. We finished the dinner with a french press and serving of coconut cake that satisfied all of us.
As we were leaving I joked with a party waiting for a table that “I just had the best meal”. Well worth the short drive from Lookout Mountain, this establishment has become our favorite spot to entertain and it is not hard to spend 2-3 hours enjoying friends, fun and delicious fare at the Canyon Grill.
Casual is the order of the day and please, Tell them we sent you!
